Christmas has already come and gone again. It always seems to go by way too fast. I work as a loan officer at a financial institution and have really seen how the economy has affected people in our community this year. People who are trying to do all the right things financially but something comes up...the loss of a job, the death of a loved one, a major medical illness or emergency, divorce, etc...all get them off course and financially devestate them. This year as people came in the week before Christmas I would tell them all, "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays", and this year more than ever I heard about how Christmas wouldn't be any good this year because they didn't have money to buy presents. It made me sad that so many people base the value of Christmas on what is under the tree. I thought I would list a few of my favorite things from Christmas that did not involve presents at all...
Hugging my mom and dad after not seeing them for nearly two weeks.
Waiting for Greg to get home from work so that the family would be complete.
Playing games as a family after dinner.
Drinking coffee w/Bailey's in the morning with my mom before any one else was awake.
Talking on the phone with my brother, sister and aunt to tell them Merry Christmas!
Hot tubbing after breakfast.
Watching movies that made us laugh
Drinking sparkling wine with good friends after dinner
Curling up with my OLD cat for a night time movie
Sleeping in a warm bed with my loving husband right beside me...
