We stayed at Pueblo Bonita at Sunset Beach in Cabo San Lucas, with a perfect view of the ocean.
Every morning we woke up early and watched the sunrise and the fishing boats come out to sea. On the mornings that we were really lucky we also watched whales breaching just off of our beach.
We ate lots of wonderful food. Everything was so fresh, and I always think the food is such a huge part of the culture. My favorite experience was with my mom at Las Gardenias.
I was able to swim with the wonderful Jagalla, a bottle nosed dolphin, go on a whale watching tour and a pirate ship.
At the poolside we had a remarkable view of the ocean and a heated pool to just relax in. At 3:00pm every day was happy hour. My favorite drink was the Cactus Margarita!
Greg an I tried to take a walk on the beach everyday, just the two of us. It was such a nice time to unwind for the day and share our favorite things. Most evenings were spent on the balcony with my parents and the Eddys. We would share wine and stories and laugh and laugh. We also watched closely for the green flash at sunset. Some nights we went out for dinner, some nights we ate in the room. Every night for the whole week my dear friends and family sang Feliz Cumpleanos to me. The trip went without a hitch. The biggest disasters were Greg losing a contact and me walking through a screen door. The only "emergency" was not having my dad's camera ready the morning the whales were breaching. Even then, they put on their show for long enough that we came away with some fantastic shots. It truly was paradise. We will store it away in our memory banks and scrapbooks and treasure it always. As my sweet dad said so honestly, "In the end, memories are all you have. They are all you can take with you."
