Happy Birthday Greg
Yesterday was Gregs 27th birthday. That's right...he is officially in his LATE twenties! He is such a great husband and a really good person in general. He really doesn't like people making a HUGE deal out of his birthday. Last year I had a surprise party for him, so this year I thought I should do what he wanted to do. So...He started the day off with a call from his mom and dad, Kim and Randy. I took him a sugar cookie and some hot apple cider around mid morning, just to say, "Hi!" and, "Happy Birthday!" Then when I finally got off of work (month end=late at work) I went right to work on my Texas style chili...at Greg's request of course. I'm so thankful that he likes my cooking! I got him Halloween candy instead of a birthday cake...also his request. We got the fun size mix of Snickers, Milky Way, Twix and M&Ms...all of his favorites. For his gift I got him two beginners piano books. Greg has always wanted to learn to play. I have enough piano experience that I can teach him the very basics before we get him some lessons. We invested in a really nice keyboard about a year ago so that he could learn and I felt his birthday was a good time to finally put it to use! So after a short lesson we sat down to eat and watch re-run episodes of one of our favorite sit-coms...King of Queens. Greg's co-workers also surprised him with a card and cake which was so nice...he works with some great people. My sweet mom also popped by the house with a card and a nice bottle of Scotch...also Greg's favorite. Overall, it was a quiet evening...just the way Greg likes it! So, one last time, even though it is late...Happy Birthday Greg....I am so thankful that I get to share this wonderful ride of life with you!
